Nicole Pierce is a pianist, dancer, choreographer, performance artist, video maker and comedienne. She is the founder and artistic director of EgoArt, Inc. an award winning multimedia dance-theater company that has performed in New York, New England and beyond. She did her graduate work in classical piano under the sage tutelage of Hung Kuan Chen at Boston University and later returned to school for an MFA at Massachusetts College of Art in their SIM (Studio for Interrelated Media) department. She has been teaching music and dance for over 20 years both privately and in schools and colleges in the Boston area and more recently New York City. Her piano repertoire is diverse running the gamut from the Romantics to blues and stride piano with a good part of her study devoted to the works of J.S. Bach. Nicole is also known for her comedic monologues that she crafted as part of the “Ego Show Series” of which there have been 7 parts to date. Since 2013, Nicole has been collaborating fruitfully with painter-sculptor-scholar Michael Prettyman in works for spoken word, video and large scale installations. A true Renaissance woman, Nicole has an Etsy store with small ceramic amulets she has dubbed Hoodudes. She knits hats and knows a few things about dog training. She can teach your kid to play piano and your dog to roll over.
