I enjoy teaching because I enjoy music and I enjoy people. Each of my students is an individual and I treat you like one. I am sensitive to your learning style, to the kinds of music you like to play and I want to know your dreams and aspirations. I am a dancer, choreographer and performance artist and love working with artists. I can help singers accompany themselves, work with dancers on internalizing musicality, help actors to hear and feel music in their bodies and connect to and enrich the work of visual artists who are interested in working in a time-based art form.
I aim to make learning piano enjoyable. Whether you want to play Rachmaninoff or just knock out a rousing version of Happy Birthday for the next party, I am happy to help and look forward to it.
“She seems to intuit exactly what it takes to motivate each child. Her pupils have different temperaments and abilities and, yet, she keeps them happy, motivated and moving forward. She isn’t just interested in having them master the next piece in the book (though they do) it is about teaching them to love music. “

“Nicole seems to know exactly how to encourage and push Emilia, while still making the experience enjoyable. Emilia has made wonderful progress, and her interests have expanded to cello. She tells us that Nicole is an excellent teacher because she is ‘energetic and experienced.’”

“Nicole’s calm and easygoing demeanor made our children feel comfortable with her from the very first lesson, but at the same time, she always expected them to work hard and put in the required effort in practicing the piano. Nicole also has a great sense for how to teach children of all ages, knowing when to push, coax, or encourage, and she never made our children feel overburdened.”
